The location is comfortable and best possible, relatively near Raygun Gothic Rocketship. The units are well-kept, functional with internet.

This place offers a unique experience with friendly staff and great service in a fantastic location near Tenderloin, with a good restaurant nearby.

The superior king room with the shower and wall-sized windows plus a great bed. Unbeatable very central location, near to the Civic Center as well as the outskirts of the Tenderloin. Good meal at attached restaurant....

Staff is warm, knowledgable, welcoming. Hotel is cutting edge design, green, comfortable, fun. Lounge/restaurant wonderful atmosphere and food. Very convenient location - a bit edgy/urban but safe. It is now my favorite SF hotel and I'm telling all my friends to stay there. Parking and breakfast by the pool included in the room rate - how can you beat that !?!

I liked our room, it was spacious and comfortable. The courtyard was pleasant. I liked the artistic tile work in the pool. The accompanying lounge (Chambers) was perfect for late-night cocktails.

The magnetic card reader for our room access was not 100% reliable.

Modern and clean vibes, plus you've got internet connection! Being in a super convenient spot just adds to the appeal. 🌟

Hotel Phoenix suited us - 2 adults and an 11-year-old child - very well. The combination of central location, reasonable price, quirky charm and facilities offered (breakfast, parking, pool, bar and wifi) meant that it had everything we wanted for a two-day stay. Staff were friendly and helpful and the pool, though small, was lovely. The short walks to Union Square and Market Street meant that we were well placed for seeing the city on foot and by bus. We would certainly stay there again.

Better breakfast coffee and bigger towels would have been nice. A set of weighing scales to help people packing to fly would have been useful.

This place has a room with the internet, a marvelous location for walking around the Asian Art Museum, and it is set in a comfortable area.

Hotel itself was nice! Staff was friendly.

Very expensive stay! Breakfast was a muffin and a cup of coffee. No safe! Poor wifi! In the middle of the tenderloin district, a lot of homeless people around the hotel! It was a strange/unsafe feeling to walk around the hotel when dark!

Retro feel and good front-desk service

Noisy, noisy, noisy...swimmers and partyers in courtyard were loud until after midnight.

The standard queen room was beautifully designed with a modern touch and included hypo-allergenic pillows. The hotel's location, just a short walk from Orpheum Theatre, was great and unbeatable. It is situated downtown, close to a variety of eateries and restaurants.

The bar staff, especially Felipe and Richard, were very friendly and welcoming, pulling a stool up at the bar for me to join them for a conversation when I ordered a beer by myself on my first night. Also, they gave me good pointers for restaurants & bars in area. The receptionists were also quite helpful and friendly. While some facilities are somewhat outdated, there is a nice vibe to this place & might return if back in SF.
